How to use your Personal 13-day Wavespell

Now that you know when your Personal 13-Day Wavespell starts you might want some tips on how to put it to the best use!

I’ve been working with my wavespells off and on for the last 14 years and have always found them to be great indicators of the ‘theme’ that will be played out in my life over the next 260 days until my next wavespell. You could probably say that for any ‘moment’, though, really. Tarot card readings are based on that same concept. That the state of mind you’re in and where you are now will inform and create your future. Of course, this is totally logical! 🙂 Yet….the numbers of times when major events happened during a wavespell has been rather astounding! Either major new themes crop up during the 13 days (it’s always interesting to see which day, exactly, the theme surfaces – ooooh more symbols to work with!) or a cycle or theme ends during the 13 day wavespell. Of course, some wavespells are rather quiet and the themes announce themselves subtly.

I suppose the thing that interests me most about the wavespells is that they are a marrrrvellous tool for focusing your intent, for becoming aware of what you are creating and for really participating in the creation of your life. I love a tool like that! Chuckle. But, really, my wavespell starts with Blue Hand and it’s all about those ‘spiritual tools’  isn’t it? 🙂 Blue Hand being my first day asks me to ‘Call forth my true vibration’ so it is a verrrrrry important day and, appropriately, it mirrors my western astrology Mercury and Neptune conjunct in the first house in Scorpio, very nicely, too! (learn the Mayan Overlay and you will be wow’ed! 🙂 )

So, what next?

Well….I do sometimes get a little bogged down in the very middle of my wavespell for some reason – but there is no reason you have to! I have some favourite days and I am sure that you will find your favourite days, too. But, for me, I see the following days as very important ones to pay attention to:

Day 1. This is one of the most important days of your wavespell – yes! The daykeeper for your first day is much like your Ascendant in western astrology so it is verrrrrry significant. On Day 1 you “call forth the energy of your true vibration”. You will probably resonate deeply with the description of the ruler of your wavespell. It gives you clues as to how you come into the world, what energy you bring with you and how others may see you.

Say your Wavespell starts with Red Dragon. This would suggest that you are here to communicate your feelings, desires and dreams. To trust, deeply, the path you are on and that you are nurtured by the divine mother. To surrender “to the will of the divine self, letting go of what your ego deems to be control of the outcomes in your life. It means deeply trusting the processes that are at work within your present spiral of evolution.”

What if your wavespell starts with Blue Eagle? This would suggest that you come into the world as a planetary server. It may take some time to realize this because Blue Eagle asks you to heal yourself first. When you heal yourself, you heal the world. You bring compassion into the world and Blue Eagle reminds you to not only have compassion for others but to also have compassion towards your self and the world itself. “In the evolutionary development of our planetary consciousness whatever serves the larger pattern also serves you. In this there is a model of flowing wholeness, of how to move gracefully with yourself and the greater whole.”

Day 13: The last day of your wavespell is the ‘bookend’ to your 13-day cycle, so it is very important too. Since Day 13 asks you to ‘surrender to the perfection’ of the energy of that day I see it as the day with one of the most significant messages of all as it kind of sums up the totality of who you are with that question. What energy is it that you need to surrender to the perfection to? The Cosmic tone of Day 13 implies chaos, change, spontaneity…so whatever pops up on that day is asking us to surrender to it’s perfection. Just let it be. Don’t struggle. Go with the flow. There is such ease to surrendering!

Say your last day is White Wizard. The significance may be that, really, one of the most important things you could do for yourself would be to let go of your need for control and to surrender to the perfection of just letting things happen on their own. Then the magic happens.

Or if your last day is Yellow Star perhaps the overarching message to you is to surrender to the perfection of your own radiance!? To alllllllways remember you need to surrender to simply being the harmony yourself if you want to feel happy. It’s not going to happen outside yourself. You’re being asked to expand your frequencies to be the love and harmony you want to see in the world.

Or perhaps your last day falls on Blue Storm. Then the message may be that you need to surrender to the perfection that things change. Nothing stays the same. You’re always growing and changing and refining Self. And, if things don’t change, perhaps you itch for them to. There is a real need for the death and rebirth in your life. Blue Storm could also be asking you to surrender to the perfection of being FREE. Revel in it. It’s yours.

Note that the colour of your first and last day are the same. So, what does this tell you? Regardless of the color of your galactic signature the color of your bookends bestow upon you the energy of that colour. 

Red: You’re an Initiator and are deeply connected to the Earth and making our physical reality a better place.

Dragon: through giving & receiving. Serpent: through your own body. Moon: through tapping into ancient wisdom. Skywalker: though being the bridge between paradise and earth. Earth: through centering yourself and being here.

White: You’re Cerebral and have an intimate knowledge of the matters of the Mind and No-Mind.

Wind: inspiration matters. World-Bridger: surrendering matters. Dog: like-vibrations matter. Wizard: magic matters. Mirror: discernment matters.

Blue: You’re Intuitive and a Feeler and you do much of your work on an energetic level.

Night: as a co-creator. Hand: as a spiritual guide. Monkey: as a divine child. Eagle: as a compassionate planetary server. Storm: as a transformer of self & world.

Yellow: You’re a Radiator and Generator of positive vibrations and others are warmed by your life-affirming energy.

Seed:  you trust in your own and the worlds unfoldment. Star: you show the way to and radiate harmony. Human: you reveal the abundance available here on earth. Warrior: you are a cosmic communicator. Sun: you accept and love all.

The other days that I find the most significant are:

Day 11:  This is the day of letting go, stripping away and releasing in order to liberate yourself. You ask yourself, “What do I need to let go of in order to be truly liberated?”

If your 11th day is ruled by Red Earth the message may be that you aren’t grounded. That you spend most of your time in the upper chakras of the mind and spiritual matters. You need to get in touch with your body, Nature and the Earth energies! Walk barefoot, get centered, sit on a boulder or the sweet earth. Let go of your identification with not being of this Earth. Liberate yourself from something so one-sided! “By accepting your physical form and your growth process in the world, you access a hub of centeredness out of which all the truth and magic of the universe unfold.”

Or perhaps your 11th day is ruled by Red Serpent and you identify too much with your body? This can support the illusion of separation from your Essence Self. This position is also encouraging you to examine and let go of any shadow issues surrounding sexuality. These shadow issues reveal your desire for deeper union, love, and intimacy. “Some people feel intimacy only during infatuation or romantic interludes and lovemaking; however, intimacy is the mutual connection between essences. It is the ability to acknowledge the depths of another person, and it can be fostered through many kinds of sharing, including that of feelings and vulnerabilities, warmth and affection, and hopes and fears. Explore what it means to be intimate with another, remembering that intimacy is an open door to higher state of consciousness.”

You can gain more insight into the days that are challenging days during your wavespell (both Day 2 and Day 11) by reading the shadow definitions of the daykeeper that rules that day.

Day 10: This is one of my favourite days! Today, you ask “What does my heart desire to manifest?” That’s pretty straightforward. You should definitely spend some time on Day 10 either meditating on this question or writing about it. Day 10 resonates with the Mid heaven (MC) right at the top of your chart in western astrology. You’re climbing up to the highest point in your chart. It represents your Life Objective, your Calling. So ask yourself, “What does your heart desire to manifest?” It’s one of the most important questions of all. If we don’t know what we desire to manifest, how is it going to happen?

Let’s say you have Red Skywalker as the ruler of your 10th day. Your hearts desire will probably have something to do with bring a bridge between the ‘other’ non-material, divine-energy world and our physical reality. Perhaps you have a talent as a channel or you bring messages back from the other side? Or perhaps you’re just plugged in to the wisdom of the ages and bring bodhisattva energy to earth? Manifest your inner Sage 🙂 Manifesting a balance in your life that “brings a sense of steadiness or centeredness even in the midst of movement and change.”

Maybe your 10th day is ruled by Yellow Seed? If that is the case then in this lifetime it may be all about realizing that you can manifest what you desire! Once you have broken open the constraining shells of past patterns and the shackles of belief structures you are ready to call forth your creative involvement with life! You can manifest your hearts desire! “Envision the seed receiving the invitation to grow in the openness of your world. Viscerally feel the possibility of your heart’s dream emerging. Your true desires and dreams contain an innate intelligence that can break through even the rigidity of fixed expectations. Planting a new seed, even in the hard soil of old belief systems, can bring unexpected magic and growth.”

Those are all examples of how you’d synthesize the energy of the day with the energy of the daykeeper. This is what you want to do for each of your days. You can take a look at your wavespell here. It never changes. Your first day is always your first day and the last day is always your last day. When it happens in time, is the only thing that changes. It comes around once every 260 days. You can study your Wavespell any old time and glean lots of insight from it – but it is fun to work with it, also, while those energies are actually out there available day to day for 13 days. 🙂

When my wavespell starts I journal every morning. I ask myself the question (they are all below) and then synthesize it with the daykeeper for the day and also how I’m feeling in the moment. The next day I go over what happened on the previous day and if anything interesting cropped up in a synchronistic way. Did any animals appear? Dreams? Unusual events or conversations or happenings? Perhaps you’ll see the Theme right away or maybe you won’t be able to see it until after your wavespell is over. Whatever happens is perfect 🙂 Just enjoy participating with the energies in your life and get the most out of them!
